A small, dated 1950’s workers cottage in need of a serious upgrade was the beginning for us. Situated in the elevated inner-city pocket of Toowong, on the border of Auchenflower and Bardon, the existing house was located on a steep 549-square-metre sloping site. It was designed to ensure the renovated house maintained the character and charm of the original cottage, while creating a modern and detailed space that would be enjoyed by others for decades. It was raised, built in and extended on both levels, and now nestles into the block, maximising the land usage and is positioned to frame the surrounding trees.
